A powerful ring with heritage at its core

Crafted by hand from a genuine British Florin (two shillings), this solid sterling silver ring has real weight and presence — ideal for those seeking a statement piece that tells a story.

Each ring is forged in our Cambridge workshop, shaped to preserve both inner and outer coin details, and polished to a bright, smooth finish. With its thicker band and vintage origin, this is more than just a ring — it’s a piece of British monetary history, worn with pride.

Whether chosen for a wedding, anniversary, or milestone gift, the Florin ring delivers a unique blend of meaning, rarity, and craftsmanship.

Coin history

The Florin was introduced in 1849 and circulated until 1967, with a final collector’s issue in 1970 - one of Britain’s earliest attempts to ease into the decimal system by introducing a coin worth 1/10 of a pound (two shillings).

💡 Did you know?

  • Coins from this era feature monarchs like Queen Victoria and George V
  • The florin continued to circulate alongside the 10p coin until both were demonetised in 1993

The making of your heirloom

Each ring takes several days to make, with meticulous attention to detail at every stage. I only use genuine, publicly circulated coins, rejecting any that are overly worn or damaged by time.

Because of the handmade process and natural variations in minting years, each finished ring may differ slightly from the photos shown — that's what makes yours completely unique.

Your ring will arrive in a beautiful presentation box, ready to gift (or keep for yourself!).

How do I choose my necklace length or ring size?

Necklaces: The easiest way to work out your preferred necklace size is to find a necklace you already wear and like the length of. Open it and measure clasp to clasp. This will give you the total length. Bear in mind if you are ordering a double coin necklace this will add to the over all length i.e ordering an 18 inch Sixpence double coin necklace will result in an overall length of 18 inches PLUS the width of the 2 coins.

Rings: Please place your order with your best guess. I always double check your ring size before sending your handmade ring to you - find out more about my Perfect Fit Method here.
