About

What if you could wear statement jewellery that you knew was sustainable and handmade just for you? Coin jewellery combines antique artefacts with modern trends – a simple but powerful way of expressing yourself through unique, elegant design to really stand out from the crowd.

My name is Katie McCann: wife, mother and creator of Mintique of Cambridge. Today the high street is flooded with mass produced repetitive jewellery designs attempting to wow customers with glossy marketing and cheap materials.

Little thought is given to the environmental impact such materials have on our precious planet. In a world crowded with fast fashion it can be hard to find meaningful pieces that speak directly to you and showcase your style and elegance.

What I create here at Mintique of Cambridge is so much more than just another piece of jewellery to tuck away in a box. They are hand created pieces of history, each coin carefully chosen and transformed just for you. The rival to the typical standard wedding ring – pieces that actually have heart and soul touched by thousands of lives finding their final resting place with you on your perfect unique day.

Slip a 200 year old ring on your new brides finger, fasten a gold plated sixpence necklace around the neck of a loved one or carefully adjust your cufflinks on your wedding shirt and wait for all you meet to compliment you on your sophisticated style. With a handmade piece from Mintique of Cambridge you are guaranteed to wear a piece of jewellery that not only has never been seen before but also holds a key to history, a genuine antique token to rival any highstreet offering.

Every effort has been made to consider the environment – not only are the coins themselves upcycled from genuine circulated coins but the packaging is sustainable – organic, Fairtrade and FSC certified – resulting in a very low carbon footprint. Mintique of Cambridge has already delighted over 500 customers many of whom contact me to tell me what an amazing addition their wedding rings were to their perfect day or how delighted they were to wear a necklace made from a coin created in their relatives birth year.
