A subtle statement piece with deep-rooted British tradition behind it.
Inspired by pieces worn by celebrities, such as TV presenter Holly Willoughby, this double sixpence coin necklace features two genuine Queen Elizabeth II sixpence coins, carefully soldered together with one showing the obverse and the other the reverse, allowing the design to be seen from both sides. The coins are suspended from a delicate sterling silver chain and finished by hand in our Cambridge workshop to a high polish.
"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in her shoe".
The sixpence holds a special place in British wedding tradition, long associated with luck, prosperity, and happiness. Traditionally placed in a bride’s shoe, this piece offers a modern way to wear that symbolism thoughtfully reimagined as a necklace to be worn and treasured long after the day itself.
With its clean lines and balanced design, this necklace is quietly striking yet easy to wear. It works just as beautifully with everyday outfits as it does with occasion wear, making it one of our most loved and enduring designs.
Matching earrings are designed to pair with this necklace and are automatically discounted when added to your order.

Care & materials note
Sixpences from this era were minted in cupronickel and are polished to a bright finish. This can be easily maintained with an occasional gentle wipe using a soft cloth.
If you have a known nickel sensitivity, please consider this when purchasing, as small amounts of nickel may come into contact with the skin.
As with all Mintique of Cambridge designs, this necklace is made slowly and intentionally using genuine historic coins and careful craftsmanship to create jewellery that feels personal rather than mass-produced.
