This American Dime coin necklace features a single genuine Roosevelt dime, carefully finished by hand and suspended from a sterling silver chain in our Cambridge workshop. Simple, meaningful, and quietly graphic, it’s a timeless everyday piece with a story behind it.
Introduced in 1946, the Roosevelt dime honours President Franklin D. Roosevelt and has become one of the most recognisable coins in U.S. history. The obverse features Roosevelt’s profile, while the reverse shows a torch flanked by an olive branch and oak leaves - symbols of liberty, peace, and strength.
Each necklace is assembled with intention, allowing you to choose which side of the coin you’d like to face forward when worn.

Choose your front-facing design
Because of the way American dimes are minted, the reverse design is struck upside down in relation to the obverse.
For this reason, we offer two options so your necklace sits exactly as you’d like:

Option 1: Roosevelt Head Front Facing
The portrait of Roosevelt appears upright when worn. -
Option 2: Torch Front Facing
The torch, olive branch and oak leaves appear upright when worn.
The jump ring is attached accordingly, ensuring your chosen design sits the right way up on the chain.

Each coin shows natural variation in tone and patina, reflecting its life in circulation and adding to its character.
A note on skin sensitivities
The Roosevelt dime is made from cupronickel, which contains nickel.
If you have a known nickel allergy or sensitivity, we gently recommend choosing one of our sterling silver sixpence necklaces, which are naturally nickel-free.

This necklace is handmade and will be dispatched within 3-5 working days of placing the order. Delivery is FREE within the UK. A signature may be required upon arrival. International delivery is available (cost depends on your location - calculated at checkout). Please get in touch if you require your order sooner and I will do my best to accommodate.

I want you to love your jewellery but if something’s not quite right, I’ll make it right. You have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
How to start a return
To begin a return, just email me (Katie) at info@mintique.co.uk with your order number and reason for return. Once your return is approved, I’ll send full instructions on where to send your package.
Please contact me before sending anything back - items returned without prior notice may not be accepted.
Return conditions
To be eligible for a return:
- The item must be unworn and in its original condition
- It must include original packaging
- You’ll need a receipt or proof of purchase
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty or incorrect.
Damaged or incorrect items
If your item arrives damaged or not as described, please contact me immediately at info@mintique.co.uk with a photo and your order number. I’ll sort it quickly and make it right.
Non-returnable items

Refunds
