A stunning and unusual piece: a threepence coin and Queen Elizabeth 2nd sixpence coin suspended on a sterling silver chain. Gift the perfect handmade necklace to friends, family or even bridesmaids with this necklace. All are finished with a high polish.

Each coin is soldered on to a delicate 3mm sterling silver ring complimenting each other in both size and beauty. The intricacy of the detail on each coin is exquisite with both coins widely regarded to bring good luck to the wearer.

One side of the coin has an attractive floral design and the head of Queen Elizabeth II on the other side.

"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in her shoe". The Sixpence is believed to bring wealth and happiness in the marriage so why not modernise the tradition and gift a beautiful threepence and sixpence to the bride to wear as a necklace instead? Ideal as bridesmaids gifts too! It would look equally as good teamed with a casual daytime outfit as it would finishing off an evening dress. A fantastic wedding gift, anniversary gift, birthday gift - anything gift!

The Threepence (also known as thruppence or thruppenny bit) date will vary.

Threepence coin has a high silver content measuring 16mm in diameter (slightly smaller than a British 5 pence piece) and 1mm thick.
Sixpence coin is cupronickel measuring 19mm in diameter (approximately the same size as a British penny) and 1.3mm thick.

Sixpence coins from this era were minted in cupronickel - each necklace will arrive polished to a high shine which can be easily maintained with an occasional gentle rub with a microfibre cloth. Please consider this metal when purchasing if you have allergies. The wearer of this necklace should strongly consider if they have a nickel allergy - although I have taken steps to protect the wearer a small amount of nickel may still make contact with the skin.

Each necklace takes days to make with meticulous attention to detail at every stage. We only use genuine publicly circulated coins with every effort made to use those with minimal marking rejecting any that have become too worn by the hands of time. Finished necklaces may vary slightly from the images shown. Every one is handled carefully to ensure you receive the highest quality product possible.
