A ring with legacy, love, and luck

This sterling silver coin ring is handcrafted from a genuine British sixpence over 200 years old dated between 1817 and 1820 - a time when these tiny coins were more than currency: they were symbols of sentiment.

The sixpence has long been associated with luck, prosperity, and family tradition, often passed down as heirlooms or hidden in a bride’s shoe for good fortune. Slim yet solid, this ring brings subtle charm and history to every hand it adorns.

Whether worn as a wedding band, promise ring, or meaningful daily piece, this is jewellery that tells a story.

Coin history

First minted in the 1500s, the sixpence was deeply rooted in wedding tradition by the 1800s, often gifted by loved ones or tucked into keepsake boxes. "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in her shoe."

💡 Did you know?

• Sixpences were called “lucky money” in Victorian wedding customs
• Many were gifted by grandparents to mark life milestones
• Pre-1920 sixpences were sterling silver, perfect for lasting jewellery

Your ring, made with care

Each ring takes several days to make, with meticulous attention to detail at every stage. I only use genuine, publicly circulated coins, rejecting any that are overly worn or damaged by time.

Because of the handmade process and natural variations in minting years, each finished ring may differ slightly from the photos shown - that's what makes yours completely unique.
