A wedding tradition, recast for 2026

For centuries, a silver sixpence has been tucked into a bride’s shoe - a quiet promise of luck, prosperity, and a happy marriage.

This ring carries that tradition forward.

Crafted from a brilliant uncirculated 2026 sterling silver sixpence, it transforms a timeless token into something you can wear every day. The coin’s familiar design remains beautifully visible, while the polished silver finish gives it a clean, modern presence.

A small ring.
A long history.
A year that means everything.

Perfect for weddings, anniversaries, milestone birthdays, or anyone marking a life chapter in 2026.

Crafted by hand in Cambridge

Each ring is individually shaped and polished in my Cambridge workshop, creating a smooth comfort fit while preserving the crisp detail of the original coin.

The Sixpence: small coin, powerful meaning

Few coins carry as much symbolism as the British sixpence. Long associated with love, luck, and marriage, it remains one of the most sentimental pieces of British coinage.

The 2026 edition continues that legacy with:

• A reverse design by Quentin Peacock, inspired by the classic 1928 sixpence
• The official portrait of King Charles III on the obverse
• A sterling silver strike that elevates it from tradition to heirloom

💡 Did you know?

  • • The sixpence wedding tradition dates back to Elizabethan times
    • Modern sixpences are struck using silver recovered from medical x-rays
    • Brilliant uncirculated coins are struck twice for sharper detail

How do I choose my necklace length or ring size?

Necklaces: The easiest way to work out your preferred necklace size is to find a necklace you already wear and like the length of. Open it and measure clasp to clasp. This will give you the total length. Bear in mind if you are ordering a double coin necklace this will add to the over all length i.e ordering an 18 inch Sixpence double coin necklace will result in an overall length of 18 inches PLUS the width of the 2 coins.

Rings: Please place your order with your best guess. I always double check your ring size before sending your handmade ring to you - find out more about my Perfect Fit Method here.
